The Aoyagi Samurai Manor Museum spans nearly 10,000 square meters, showcasing six galleries, a beautiful Japanese garden, and immersive experiences such as tea rooms, antique markets, and hands-on exhibits.

Tour Highlights:

Arrival: Your private chauffeur will welcome you at Kakunodate Station.

Cherry Bark Art at Satoku Garden: First, we’ll take you to the Satoku Garden shop (5 minutes by car), where you’ll be welcomed by staff with a small complimentary gift unique to Kakunodate Akita. And can explore the region’s iconic cherry bark art. (5 minutes)

3.

Aoyagi Samurai Manor Museum: We’ll then take you to the Aoyagi Samurai Manor Museum (2 minutes by car), where the museum staff will greet you at the gate.

Guided Tour: Enjoy an introduction to the main house with a guided tour (either in Japanese or via an English virtual video). (15 minutes)

5.

Free Exploration Time: Following the guided tour, you’ll have 30 minutes to an hour to freely explore the museum grounds.

Discover the museum’s charming Japanese garden, serene pond, traditional storehouses, exhibits buildings, shrine, Antique Gallery tea room, and gift shops. Try on authentic samurai helmets and handle real samurai swords for a true taste of samurai life.

Matcha Tea Experience: Relax in the Antique Gallery tea room, where our staff will serve you fresh matcha and traditional wagashi sweets.

7.

Return Trip: We’ll transfer you back to Kakunodate Station or to your hotel if it’s within a 15-minute drive.
An optional stop at one shopping location during the return trip is available upon request.
